If you as a customer believes customer service is dead, well I got some bad news for you. Hourly paid employees working for those same mega-corporate entities are treated like slaves. Trust and believe. Low wages, verbal bullying/threats, and the expectation for part-time employees with no benefits to complete the work of four full-time employees was and still is the new normal. So, if you’re upset because grocery stores are forcing you to use self-service registers, cry me a river. I got one question for your whining ass. What did you do knowing that hourly paid grocery store employees were being mistreated by their employer? I’d bet you did nothing. So, know this, it was inevitable that human workers to be being replaced by automation, robots, etc. Your lack of concern about human employees contributed to self-service registers. So, put your big girl panties on and stop complaining. It’s your fault!
WTF? Don’t you know that millions of employees working in the Retail, Custodian, and Fast Food industries are being paid slave wages and working in deplorable work environments? You don’t care about that, but now as a customer, you wanna complain about being treated like a non-mutha fu*king factor. Well, join the club.
I’d seen the way hourly employees are treated by employers in the retail and in the custodian/housekeeping industries and it ain’t pretty. But anybody with half a brain knew and yet we all sat back and didn’t do a goddamn thing to help those workers. Why are you surprised that customer service is dead?
That’s why I’d been advocating for a $30 Federal minimum wage law. Why? Because you and I are worthy of great customer service.
I’d worked as a custodian for a public school district for one year and the corruption was so bad, I wrote a book about it. So, yeah, I know a little about the ins and outs of employees being mistreated by their employer.
